Are you interested in driving but don’t yet have your CDL license? Join the team Talon Logistics (Giant Eagle's transportion company) as a Loader while you earn your CDL A license! Our in-house training program allows you to start driving with us in as little as 6 months.After completing the training program, you will have the opportunity to transition to a full time Driver role. A Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the accure, damage-free delivery of product via tractor trailers in an efficient and safe manner. Your work will help fill our stores' orders, meet delivery schedules, and promote customer sisfaction.

As a Loader, you will be responsible for the accure, damage-free loading of product into trailers in an efficient and safe manner to fill our Stores’ orders, meet delivery schedules and promote customer sisfaction.
Job Description
Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
Experience Desired: Electric pallet jack experience a plus; Power Industrial Truck (PIT) certificion optional
Educion Desired: No High School diploma required
Certificion or Licensing Required: Must have valid driver's license for least two years prior to hire. Must have no commercial DUI/DWI on record. Must have no personal DUI/DWI on record within previous 5 years
Lifting Requirement: Up to 100 pounds
Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
Maintain flexibility in scheduling and availability to work the times, shifts, days and overtime as necessary to meet the Company's production needs.
Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, safety and sanition rules, including the safe operion of equipment and helping to maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Appropriely follow food safety procedures.
Regularly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 90 lbs. in compliance with all safety rules.
Opere electric pallet jack, equipment and radio frequency (RF) unit in a safe and courteous manner.
Perform a safety check on equipment before starting an assignment.
Verify th the dock door and the trailer are safe and secured prior to entering the trailer.
Empty, clean and sweep trailers before loading.
Sort, load and unload palletized product and equipment following proper procedures in order to meet customer requirements, to support the safe, damage-free delivery of product and to efficiently utilize space and proper weight distribution.
Verify th each pallet is for the correct store before placing it on the trailer.
Communice with supervision regarding safety, equipment, poorly-stacked pallets, wrong store numbers, damaged goods and any problems or issues th may arise.
Bring completed load paperwork to the office to be processed for dispch.
Unload non-palletized freight and backhauls.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed and assigned.
Ability to read and speak English.
Ability to read and follow directions and have effective listening and communicion skills.
