This 49" x 26" panel square was handed down from my dad’s dad, who was a master carpenter in Germany. He immigrated before WWI. I don’t know if it was made in Germany or the US, but it is a fine piece of craftsmanship in itself and is at least 85 years old. Note the inset gusset plates and the fine lettering on the blade. My dad used it for cutting plate glass for windows.
