The Shop Fox W1849 14" 2 HP Resaw Bandsaw was awarded Top Tool by WOOD Magazine for its performance and combination of features over the competition.
The 2 HP motor powered through 14"-wide cuts–the widest in the test–without bogging down.
The European design elements, such as roller disc blade guides, steel column box-frame with rigid “W” shaped spine, and a hinged blade guard enclosure are the extras that make this saw a pleasure to use.
With the W1849, you won’t pay more for important accessories like the premium, dual-height fence with a hairline indicator scale.
The cast-iron and aluminum extruded fence can be set to the low (1/2") position for close-in detail work, or at 6" for extra support when resawing taller pieces.
A 4" dust-collection port is incorporated at the bottom of the lower wheel cabinet. An additional 4" dust-collection port is used in tandem with dual blade brushes for efficient removal of debris from the blade just below the table.
Add in a storage cabinet for blades, a quick-release blade tension lever, and viewing windows for tracking and blade tension settings, and you’ve got a feature-packed machine with a small footprint and over-sized performance.
