We are moving out town and have to leave our beloved, sun-filled apartment in the heart of Shadyside. Walking distance to Highland Avenue, East Liberty, Walnut Street, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Frick and Schenley Park--it is truly the best location in the city. There's a 71B bus stop right out front and it's a short walk to the busway to get the P1 or P3.
This pre-war apartment has all the beautiful architectural details you could want--original wood floors, glass doorknobs, and thick plaster walls that mean this place is a quiet oasis away from the world, tucked up in a solid 7-floor building. The apartment has tons of storage--two closets in the bedroom, a hall closet, and an enormous pantry, and is a great size for a couple. The enormous living room features a cool curved wall and the unit is on a corner, which means you get a wonderful cross breeze and can leave your windows open around the clock when the weather is nice. If it's chilly out, the new double-paned windows will keep you warm, along with the fact that the landlord pays heat!
We have *loved* living in this apartment for the past seven years. There are only six corner units in the building and they don't come up for rent very often so grab this one while you can! We are subletting the apartment for June and July for $1100 a month, with the possibility to sign a 12-month lease in August for $1224 a month. The landlord pays heat, hot water, gas, and electricity, which means all you're responsible for is internet. What a steal for an amazing location!
