I have a small room available immediately( and will have a larger room available shortly hereafter) in a 3 bedroom house on a quiet street in the heart of Brighton Heights. This place is currently set-up essentially like a boarding house( w no communal area beside the kitchen and bathroom) where the tenants have been living exclusively in their respected bedrooms. I've been living here for 7 months and have had no issues. It suits my basic needs which are security, a place to shower, and a place to cook meals. It's in close proximity to Downtown Pittsburgh( 5 min by car/ 15 min by bus or bike/ 30 min walk) and it's literally the most affordable room in the city where you won't have to deal with lunatics and junkies. The other 2 occupants proved themselves to be problematic( rent) and have since been evicted. The landlord has entrusted me to try to recruit new occupants and to change the vibe around here. With the right combination of housemates I hope to eventually utilize a room( which is currently filled w random furniture) as a living room/gaming room/ DJ studio, and make this place more conventional, interactive and homelike. We will have the flexibility to build this place out to suit our needs and any investments may be leveraged against rental fees. My hopes are to find people that are on the same page and convert this into a cool space with no concerns of any rental increase.
- The room being offered is the biggest of the 3, has a walk in closet, and is fully furnished w a bed and dressers. The landlord is the sweetest woman you'll ever meet and often brings items such as bundles of paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning products. All the utilities are in the landlord's name and all occupants pay their rent and utilility shares independently and directly to her. So if any of the others get behind on their bills, it will not reflect on your share of the rent/bills or require you to compensate for anyone's irresponsibilty...which is HUGE! The listed rent of $550- is actually an approximation. The actual rent on the room is $450 and utilities have been around $100( give or take $20) Utilities last month were $70/piece, so total rent would have been $520-. Utilities are higher in the Winter, so totals may possibly be in the $570-$580 range tops. Move in costs are $750-( 450 rent/ 300 deposit)
-ABOUT ME: Older straight male( 50) that used to make a living as a club promoter and DJ( House and Techno) and currently works in the service industry( bartender/server). Kinda artsy fartsy and am into independent cinema, dance, visual art, MMA, beer and wine, and good food. Recently suffered some serious injuries that left me unable to work and wiped out my savings, and basically moved in here because it was the cheapest room I could find. Mathematically, I realize that this is the only place that will allow me to build up savings quickly so I'm going to stick it out as long as possible
-I am seeking housemates that are gainfully employed, clean up after themselves, understand the meaning of respect, may (or may not) have encountered recent setbacks( relationship fallout, injury, etc) and are willing to make some concessions in order to pay off debt and/or stack some cash. I have no preference as to who I live with and am open to sharing this space with anyone regardless of race, gender, sexual identification, or lifestyle. I absolutely want people that are financially responsible but still like to have fun. I value the truth( good, bad, or ugly) and am intolerant to hard drug users and raging alcoholics. If this seems appealing to you, then hit me up!

***I'm getting bombarded with responses, as I knew I would. I'm really trying to find the best matches possible based on personalities and our needs around here, and will be diligent. Also, I will ultimately be passing your info onto my landlord, who will have you jump through some hoops as well, and we're trying to get this filled by the beginning of the month( 8/1/25). To make things easier, please respond with as much information( within reason) regarding your situation( full name, contact #, personality, preferences/dislikes, short term goals/long term goals, Facebook profile) and whatever basic info that seems important to know about another when entering a multi-person living situation. This is going to be tedius as is, so an effort to make this expeditious will be helpful and greatly appreciated! Any responses like "Interested...can I move in tomorrow" or "need room...have job" will be instantly deleted. I made an effort to be descriptive, and expect the same.
