Sick betta fish (Carnegie)

I have a 3 yr old betta fish who I can no longer take care of. He has fun rot and previously had pop eye. He was treated a month ago with kanaplex and the pop eye resolved however he still has some inflammation. I do not want to put him down or flush him so I figured I would post here in hopes someone is interested in rescuing him. Hes a sweet fish. My tank parameters are all good. Hes in a heavily planted 15 gal. I do not believe my tank is the issue however I could be wrong.
