We are a diaspora band of serious players who would like, but emphatically do not need, a second guitar player. We come from things like Fugazi, Melvins, Minutemen, Velvet Underground, Birthday Party, Devo, Circle Jerks, Nomeansno, Iggy Pop, Redd Kross, etc., so you should be into that for this.
Ideal candidate is a skilled player who plays often, is communicative i.e. responds to texts and confirms plans, is reliable i.e. shows up for said plans, is willing to learn a lot of new material, is excited to travel in fairly regular bursts and has a lifestyle that can accomodate for that, is happy to play a supporting role for songs in an established band, is old enough to be out of school and get into a bar, enthusiastic enough to not be cynical, and does not have substance abuse problems.
I live and work in Pittsburgh, but we are not a local band. We are neither going to live out of a van nor are we hobbyists. Our rhythm section lives in the midwest. We are putting out a series of well-produced records and want the right person to get into shape so we can better pull off some of these parts live.
