This viola was played by my family members since 1960. The condition is excellent. It has no cracks or damage, and has been well maintained. The size is not large like many violas, but just under 16 inches in length. It would be excellent for a young professional, Conservatory student, or a violinist who wished to double on the viola, since the size of the instruments would be much closer.

This viola was built on a Guarneri (del Gesù) model

Highly flamed two-piece maple back, matching ribs, neck, and scroll, paired with straight, even-grained spruce top
A signature rich orange/gold oil varnish over a yellow-gold ground
Fluted F-holes and a fully hand-carved scroll, with flush, Italian-style corner blocks
