condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Knabe
size / dimensions: 5'7"

Refinished by Dave Maresca Piano Service in Washington, PA in 2008. Owned by two professional musicians. Tuned regularly. Very beautiful Walnut "Art Case". Not your typical Knabe. If you Google Knabe Art Case, you wont find another one like it. Walnut finish is in excellent condition, totally restored . Plays great. Serial # 91216 which dates it as 1921.

The Knabe Piano Company was established in 1837 in Baltimore, Maryland. Albert Einstein, who was a devoted music lover, owned a Knabe piano. Francis Scott Key, composer of Star Spangled Banner, owned a Knabe. Check out what the Antique piano shop lists the value at for a 1915-1935 Grand piano like this. https://antiquepianoshop.com/sell-your-instrument/

They also give the following history of Knabe..."In 1908 Knabe was purchased by The American Piano Company. During the early 20th Century the firm built some of the finest, most elaborate and expensive pianos in American history. Knabe was so successful that it became the "Official Piano of the Metropolitan Opera" in the 1920s....All through the 20th Century, the Knabe name continued to be synonymous with the best in quality and workmanship. The Knabe name was bought by the Asian piano giant Young-Chang in the 1990s, and the Knabe name is still being produced today."

It's still for sale. I'll take the ad down when sold.
