Job Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Trailer Technician / PM Mechanic to join our team. This role will focus primarily on trailer maintenance, inspections, and preventative maintenance (PMs) to keep our fleet safe, compliant, and on the road.
Duties:
Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) on trailers and tractors
Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, including brakes, lights, suspension, and structural components
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, ABS, and air brake systems
Conduct inspections and identify safety issues
Perform basic mechanical work on tractors as needed (no heavy engine work required)
Complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate service records and inspection documentation
Skills & Experience:
Experience working on trailers (flatbeds, step decks, RGNs preferred)
Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical, and suspension components
Ability to perform PM services and inspections independently
Basic diesel mechanical knowledge (engine work is minimal)
Welding/fabrication experience is a plus (but not required)
Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
