We are looking to fill the following position:
Experienced Tree Climber / Bucket Truck Operator/Cutter (Residential) — Growth to Crew Leader / Ops Manager
TimberJack Tree Service is hiring a responsible, experienced tree cutter for daily residential tree care operations. This role is primarily bucket truck cutting, with climbing when needed. We’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable, efficient, dependable, and wants to grow into a crew leader/operations manager role while working closely with the owner (estimating + business ops).
What you’ll do
Perform safe, efficient aerial cutting from a bucket truck
Climb when needed for removals, pruning, and access limitations
Support daily residential operations: rigging, lowering, job setup, cleanup
Coordinate with ground crew to keep production moving and the jobsite safe
Be professional and personable with customers on residential properties
Help maintain equipment and keep trucks/tools organized and job-ready
Over time: take on crew leadership, job planning, and day-to-day field operations
Requirements (must have)
Proven experience in residential tree work (bucket + climbing as needed)
Strong knowledge of safe cutting practices, rigging, and jobsite awareness
Clean driving record
Must have reliable transportation and maintain a currently registered and insured personal vehicle
Can drive a manual transmission
Dependable attendance, clear communication, strong teamwork
Nice to have
Prior crew lead experience
CDL (or willingness to obtain)
ISA credentials or interest in certifications (not required)
Pay & growth
$30–$39+/hr DOE (paid bi-weekly)
Production bonus based on performance, safety, and job quality
Clear path to crew leader pay as trust and leadership are proven
CDL license not required but preferred and a PLUS. Applicant must be willing to obtain CDL license in future.
