Overall, the bookcase is in good shape, with good grain pattern. There is modest wear and tear on some of the door frame edges and minor separation of some of panels on the sides (separation lines are approximately the thickness of a manila cardboard folder or less). The marks are generally not visible, though I include a picture of one scrape/nick where the exposed wood is lighter in color than the rest of the surrounding wood. The back is in acceptable shape; in some cases the wood backing is broken or missing (see pictures). However, the damage to the backing does not show through to the interior of the book shelves themselves. In addition, the accordion arms on one of the 11" shelves are not working well; they need to be reset into the shelf, but I don't have the means to do it. The small wood knobs for each of the four shelves are intact and appear to be original. The base is open bottom resting on four feet that are in good condition.
