Large adjustable table. Perfect work bench or workspace for art, craft, puzzling, hobbies, printmaking, repair work, etc.
Serial number suggests the piece was manufactured in 1957 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Original metal tag is still on crossbar. A faded sticker is visible on the tabletop.
Recently resurrected from my neighbor's Pittsburgh basement. According to the previous owner (now deceased), his father (an artist) obtained the piece from an architecture firm that was closing / renovating on Pioneer Avenue years ago.
Raises, lowers, and tilts nicely. Perhaps 38-40" at maximum height.
Cast iron / steel hardware and oak base are in exceptional condition. Tightens solidly into place.
Hardwood (maple?) top is heavily scored/pocked in places from original use. Original raising/lowering pencil retainer is still attached, but broken. Some wood glue would have it in good shape in no time. Really is a beautiful, sturdy piece of industrial furniture that is practical for the right user. I wanted to keep it, but its just too large for my space.
Artist, architect, maker, crafter, craftsman, woodworker, repair, shop, authentic, tough, sturdy. Work bench. Work table. Maker space.
