job title: Dog Walker/Pet Sitter
🐾 Join the Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs Crew! 🐾--Your Dream Job (If You Love Dogs, Cats, and Fresh Air!)

Hey there! Thanks for sniffing out this awesome job opportunity—we promise it’s worth your time. We’re Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs, a small but mighty pet care company that’s been making tails wag and purrs happen since 2012. Our team specializes in dog walking, cat visits, and overnight pet-sitting in the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods. We love what we do, and—judging by our Google, Facebook, Yelp, and Instagram reviews—our clients love us too!

Now, we’re growing our pack and looking for dog walkers and pet sitters to join us in the best job you never knew you needed.

🦴 What We’re Hiring For:

Part-Time Dog Walker (3–5 shifts per week)
Walk happy pups, visit cool cats, and get your daily steps in while getting paid. This shift mainly runs Tues–Wed–Thurs (with some Monday/Friday options if you’d like a little more), about 2–3 hours per day with 3–5 visits per day (example locations can include Sq. Hill, Lawrenceville, South Side, etc). Average compensation target: $1,200–$1,500/month, with room to grow into more work if you’re thriving and want more.

Overnight Pet Sitter (as needed)
Be the ultimate sleepover guest for some four-legged friends. More details if you are able/interested.
✨ Bonus: Want to do both? Even better. We’ll build opportunities for the right people. More work = more money.

💩 The “Ruff” Stuff (Let’s Be Real)
-Yes, you’ll deal with poop. (We’ve got bags for that.)
-Expect slobber, fur-covered clothes, and dogs that sometimes test your leadership.
-You’ll need energy, patience, and confidence—this is work, not just a casual stroll.
-You won’t get rich, but you can make a solid income and have a good lifestyle. Full-time walkers can earn $500–$1,000/week; part-time walkers/sitters can earn $400–$1,500/month.
-Parallel parking and some evening walks are part of the job (don’t worry—we supply the headlamp).

🐕 The Perks (Aka “The Treats”)
-Steady work. If you’re dependable, you’ll always have visits lined up.
-No dress code. Wear what’s comfortable (as long as it’s appropriate).
-Free fitness. Walking miles a day keeps you healthy—your fitness tracker will be thrilled.
-Independence. No micromanaging—just you, happy pets, and smooth systems.
-Quick onboarding. Our streamlined training gets you earning fast.

🌟 Why This Job Matters
At Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs, we’re not just walking dogs—we’re raising the standard for pet care in Pittsburgh. Our mission is to deliver a five-star experience every single time, and we hold ourselves to what we call the 99% Retention Standard. That means:
-Showing up on time.
-Following care instructions exactly.
-Sending thoughtful updates.
-Returning pets better than we found them.
-Leaving every client completely satisfied.
We expect 99% of our visits to meet this mark. The other 1%? That’s where we communicate, ask for help, and solve challenges so they don’t repeat. If you’re someone who takes pride in your work and wants to be part of a crew that’s serious about excellence, you’ll thrive here.

🐾 How to Apply (Hint: We’re Looking for Detail-Oriented People!)
Forget the boring cover letter. Instead, go to our website, find and watch the short video in the section on "Work For DPD", and fill out an application in that application section:

We do this because we want applicants who actually read to the bottom of this post (and can follow instructions—big deal in pet care).

Thanks for checking us out—we can’t wait to meet you! 🐶🐱✨
