The VR-12 was Boston's top of the line model using many of the same innovations developed from the experimental Lynnfield line of speakers, including:
Deep Channel Design ("DCD") woofers, which featured longer voice coils and larger motor structures to control low end response;
Amplitude Modulated Diffraction ("AMD") tweeter design which incorporated a cleverly shaped armature in front of an aluminum dome tweeter to improve off-axis performance; and
Boston's quintessential Acoustic Suspension cabinet designs to improve transient response in the low frequencies and keep with tradition.
The VR-12 uses a single 1" aluminum dome tweeter, a 4" midrange, and dual 6.5" DSD woofers for a robust room-filling presence. This particular unit is in impeccable condition. Not a scratch or mark anywhere, and the grille cloth is equally clean. It delivers the promise of an anchored vocal performance, while also matching seamlessly with other channels to really give an immersive listening experience.
