About the Organization:
Fine Art Miracles Inc, is a well established 501(c)3 nonprofit, with a mission to improve the lives of people of all ages with various challenges. In the Greater Pittsburgh Area, we offer the benefits of Fine Art Lessons, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance & Movement Therapy, Multi-Sensory Sessions, and PEERbot Learning - using Social Robots to teach Social Skills, Literacy and STEAM Lessons, sometimes combined with Art Therapy, to early learners.
About Art /Art Therapy:
FAM primarily provides Therapeutic Art and Art Therapy for the elderly in nursing homes, memory care units and assisted living facilities. We also work with typical and challenged children, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, veterans, the homeless, at risk youth, and more. Our Therapeutic Art and Art Therapy sessions are person-centered and last about an hour.
FAM provides social robotics in our PEERbot Learning Programs for typical and challenged children in group settings (such as in special needs classrooms), and one on one in the home. PEERbot uses a social robot and a variety of books, visual aides and props, using pre-designed lessons and new lesson plans, created by staff for specific classes. We also offer a Multi-Sensory Session for people with Alzheimer's Disease and advanced dementia, which employs a social robot, a sensory covering, aroma therapy and music, basically a 4-pronged engagement method. All training and equipment is provided. No experience with robots necessary--just a desire to learn!
We are looking for individuals who wish to take a deeper dive into creating lessons and robotic content. Super easy, way creative and super fun! We'll show you how!
As a FAM Art Teacher/ Therapist/Robotic Enthusiast, you will work with our clients at their facilities, do a little online documentation, and receive payment (direct deposit) at the end of the month for all of the sessions you've implemented.
