The 41 Cadillac is an excellent example of Art Deco design. ... Yes.... Art Deco on wheels.
It was a unique year, too much trivia to tell. It was the masterpiece design of automotive designer Harley Earl,
"The father of automotive design,". Luxury cars struggled for sales during the depression. Many folded.
Cadillac lost money from 1930 to 1940. Then came this...the 41...Suddenly sales jumped so fast there was a waiting list
for 41Cadillacs......1941 was the first year Cadillac made a profit since 1929....... They dropped the price and the public loved the style.
But it was the last full model year before the war.
December 7, 1941 .....We went to war. ....Auto production soon stopped. They were already manufacturing the 42's 1942 cars were only made about 6 weeks before they stopped auto production altogether.
Harley Earl who oversaw the design of the style said ......."As you walk around the 41 Cadillac, every place you look should be a delight to the eye."
The 42 Cadillac was a totally different car anyway. Cars were not made again til 1946. ...
66,000 41 Cadillacs were made. 3,000 of them were this 2 door convertible model.
If you watch Turner Classic Movies of the 40's and you pay close attention you be surprised to see so many 41 Cadillacs!
Conv's, Limoisines, 4 door convertibles. ........
.In the 1991 movie "Bugsy" the gray 4 door convertible Warren Beatty drives all through the movie
is a 41 Cad..........
When the Mob drives Eliot Gould to the river and offs him, that's a 41 Fleetwood sedan.......
When Annette Benning tells Warrn Beatty off and leaves him screaming mad, she drives away in a 2 door conv. same as this......

It would be worth doing as all else is show quality
restoration.
It has issues.
These old convertibles shake and rattle like a marraca band at
a Cinco de Mayo party!
I have owned it just briefly. I bought it from someone
who bought it from an estate.
It is my second 41 Cadillac I have owned. I love them,
However I should not have bought it due to my health
and age and I just don't have time for it.
I had knee surgery recently and using the clutch is painful.
If you have concerns about the condition of the car,
send your own mechanic to check it out. Nothing to hide.
Cannot verify the mileage, but lower miles than a NASA
satellite that orbits Mars....then again, maybe not.
Parts are easier to find than on many other rare war cars. Many parts
interchange with other GM makes from 1937 on up.
Members of the Lowballer Society are not on the invitation list
for this event.
Whether you want to buy it or not, I hope you Cadillac fans
enjoy the pictures.
