This 2005 Hyundai Elantra has almost 169,000 miles on it. It has the following MAJOR ISSUES:
1. Needs major mechanical work (new axle, struts, a few other things). Because of this it DOES NOT PASS PA INSPECTION. The antilock-break system and traction control systems do not work because of this. However the brakes themselves work fine once the ABS is shut off.
2. Has pretty significant rust on the rear drivers side quarter panel as well as rust on the rear passenger side and a couple of other places. There is a big dent in the roof. The body needs some work pretty much everywhere (see pictures). I had some rust remediation done a few years ago on the underside of the body but don't have the facilities to get pictures of what it's like underneath at this point.
Other issues are some stains on the interior upholstery and I think the parking brake is malfunctioning as well.
This car has had one owner (me) and other than the issues described above it does still start, turn over, and run. AC and heat work fine as do steering, windows, signals etc. Title is clean and ready to transfer.
Not sure if I'll get any takers but I wanted to try before sending it to the scrapyard. It's been a great car and might be a good project for someone who has the time and talent to fix the issues. I will entertain all reasonable offers.
