Utopian pottery marked with the initials "TS" is attributed to Tot Steele.
Tot Steele was an artist who created pieces for Owens Pottery in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Utopian lines, introduced by J.B. Owens in 1896, was a high-glaze brown ware with underglaze slip painting featuring botanical decorations and the Matte Utopian finish. These vases, such as the 13.5" tall example with an orange to blue glaze and decorated with a large flower and leaves and marked "TS" on the side and the Owens mark on the base.
