Deluxe, Cushy and Very sturdy, hand built from high end parts like Titanium bolts, ultralight Thomson seatpost, Extra large Rotor. Medium to small 17” frame for riders upto 5’9. Rear shock absorber adjustable. Scott grips. Shimano SLX 3x10 . Schwalbe Rocket light grippy tires.

Brakes, chain and tires in great condition. Tires have almost no wear. Gear shift is really smooth and climbs like butter. light and nimble. Best in class for a level above beginner as you get full suspension without breaking the bank. Fairly priced as it is tuned up by Trek technicians and had tune up and deep clean.

IMO Specialized 26’ series rides better than the Marlin especially for riders below 5’8 and possibly females with short hands. Marlin has really wide handle bars so when riding with one hand it veers off path. Also 29inch wheels are great when going over an obstacle but if they get in a rut they do not maneuver out easily as you need a wide handle bar movement . With smaller wheels , less wider handle bars and slightly longer stem for leverage the 3900 is simply faster to respond and feels more natural when weaving obstacles . It stays on path; rock steady.

26inch wheels with gearing are significantly easier on the knee on a steep slope . On the other hand on a normal road you can take off like a rocket as the torque converts to speed faster. The 3x8 gearing helps you feel connected , no matter what the speed is, the 1x9 is an oversimplification and is not satisfying when going at high speeds. Just my two cents.
