In The Shadow of the King, by Robert Griffing, his most famous work. This is a framed, matted, signed Lithograph, limited edition, number 255 of 950. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity. The year is 1764 and the scene depicts a Native American hunting party ascending Coal Hill, now Mt Washington, overlooking what was then the British Fort Pitt. The Native Americans then found themselves “In the Shadow of the King”. If you live or have visited Mt. Washington in Pittsburgh, this is how it appeared in 1764. looking down to the point where the three rivers meet.
