The University of Pittsburgh Autism Center of Excellence is conducting a research study to learn about the early differences in development and thinking between young children recently diagnosedwith autism, and young children who are developing typically.
To complete this research, we need help from families with children who are not yet speaking in full sentences:
§ Children 1-3 years old with autism
§ Healthy children 1-2 years old without autism or developmental delays
§ Children 1-17 years old with diagnosed developmental delays other than autism
All children will have screens and assessments of autism symptoms at no cost at the University of Pittsburgh. Children participate in simple
computer tests where they observe pictures and faces, and have assessments of general development. Parents may be asked to complete questionnaires about their child’s behavior and development.
Children with autism have annual follow-up visits through age 4 to assess current symptoms of autism and general development.
Eligible participants will be compensated for testing.
All testing takes place in Oakland, and free parking is available.
