My husband's family came from Italy and my family came from Ireland. The difference between them and the illegals now is that our families came with almost nothing and didn't expect the government to give them a damn thing. They made meals from nothing and lived with nothing, but they worked hard and had a deep faith in God and believed in the United States of America.
