Our programs bring high school exchange students from China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Germany, and Spain to the U.S. to attend an American public high school for one year and live with a volunteer American host family. As a Local Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our nation's public diplomacy efforts, creating positive impressions about America, breaking stereotypes, and fostering mutual understanding and respect.

Bringing exchange students to your school helps our American students to better understand other cultures and get excited about learning another language.
Your role as a Local Coordinator is to create the very best exchange environment for both students and host families. As a Local Coordinator, you play a vital role in finding host families for students, helping students achieve familiarity with lie in the U.S. and better understand American culture, and creating an invaluable cultural experience for the host families and the community.

-Find qualified host families and high quality schools for exchange students
-Provide an orientation to the host families and students

-Experience with international students or diverse cultures a plus
-Experience in mediation and/or counseling a plus
-Valid driver's license
-Ability to pass a criminal background check
-Stipend of $1000 for each exchange student for whom the Local Coordinator is responsible, with the possibility for a bonus based on meeting early placement deadlines
-Contributing to greater international understanding
-Helping an exchange student realize his/her dream of attending an American high school
As a Local Coordinator, you will be at the very heart of the exchange student program and a true ambassador for international understanding.
